CEO Letter 2019


At Zovio, we believe in the transformational power of learning, and we bring this belief into all aspects of what we do every day. Our social responsibility program seeks to Activate Ambition in all learners by focusing on two core areas: Access for All and Learning Beyond the Classroom. Providing access to resources and education is the first step to successful learning, so we work with local and national organizations to provide educational grants to communities that have been left behind. We also understand that a one-size-fits-all approach to education doesn’t work. To activate ambition in all learners, we support opportunities to inspire learning beyond the traditional classroom setting, such as workforce training for veterans, STEAM initiatives, and extracurricular activities.

Our employees have always shared in our commitment to giving back. They’ve logged more than 140,000 volunteer hours and donated more than $2 million to causes that are important to them. To show our steadfastness, Zovio provides employees with 16 hours of paid time off each year to volunteer in their communities to help make a difference. Zovio hosts company-wide volunteer activities to give employees the opportunity to support our core giving areas of Access for All and Learning Beyond the Classroom. I am so proud of the generosity of employees and would like to thank everyone who has given their time and resources to help those in need.

With more than $10 million in philanthropic grants so far, I look forward to the positive change we can make moving forward. Together, we can make a real difference by activating ambition in all learners.
