CEO Letter 2020


At Zovio, we know it’s critical to meet people where they are and challenge the traditional way of thinking to implement practical and effective solutions. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program helps us live those values by making an impact in the communities in which we live and work and forming meaningful relationships with nonprofit partners.  

For learners to overcome barriers and reach higher, they need access to resources and an environment that’s conducive to success. That’s why we’re proud to partner with local and national organizations to provide technology to students, help close the knowledge gap, and help everyone achieve their ambitions. We are committed to giving back in a variety of ways—supporting STEAM initiatives, workforce training, school readiness, and nontraditional learning to take education beyond the classroom. 

As a company, we give more than our money. Our employees give generously of their time, and we support them by providing 16 hours of paid volunteer time each year. They have used that support to make an incredible impact in their communities by volunteering more than 155,000 hours and donating more than $2.2 million.  

Our leaders host volunteer activities for their teams, and CSR follows their lead by providing company-wide volunteer opportunities. We stand behind our core beliefs of Opportunities for All and Learning Beyond the Classroom. I am proud every day to work with the generous and motivated employees of Zovio, and I thank everyone who has donated their time and resources to make a positive impact in their community.  

Having made more than $10.6 million in grants so far, we are not slowing down. When Zovions come together, we can make a real difference and activate ambition in all learners.
